Facinating little blurbs Ann. Odd that you talk about people/couples who wouldn’t get “permission” from their Priest to marry. I have a great uncle, Raffaelo, who immigrated to the USA 1894. He married Elvira in 1905 who died in 1914. A year later 1915. he mrried her older sister! Maybe he did so, because he had 3 young children to care for? But would that have been allowed in Italy?
