Vincenzo had done all his own research both in the microfilms and in person in the town and parish records but the brick wall was still standing. He asked me for help.
He couldn’t find a birth record for an ancestor born about 1819, and two of the five children he had found had the mother’s first name as Tecla and the other three had the first name of Teresa. Vincenzo wanted proof that Tecla and Tersa were the same person and he wanted to know about the parents of both Tecla/Teresa and his namesake Vincenzo.
A careful study of borth civil indexes and parish records revealed Tecla and Teresa to be the same person. I found a parish marrige record showing the grooms family to be from a neighbouring town which answered the question of why no birth record could be found in Isola. As a bonus I gave him information on his ancestors siblings.
