Irene was asked to translate military documents for two brothers that covered both world war periods. One brother had emigrated to America, the other remained with his family in Italy.
The translations were relatively simple, however, there were several periods of ‘leave’ granted to one brother. One specified that it was to await his brother’s arrival!
Interpretation…..The younger brother who had stayed in Italy was called to service, but this would have left his mother and sister alone since his father had recently died. He was sent home on leave to await his brother’s arrival from America so his mother would not be left without the protection of a male while he did his military service.
If you have some documents that would benefit from this ‘interpretation’ service why not contact us.
