Supino in Festa

Supino is a small mountain top town in the former Papal States.  September 5th a festa was staged in honour of San Rocco.  About 5000 people gathered from the surrounding towns to watch a 2 hour long free concert by singer Anna Tatangelo.  Pannini with ‘porchetta’ (roast pork sandwiches) and beer were served in the street at a nominal price by the committee to raise money.  At the end of the evening everyone exited the town square through a 6 feet wide gap between the stage and the edge of the square.  We had to walk a kilometre to get to our car and we arrived more than an hour before the concert was due to begin.
